Swim instructions can help to make training you child
to swim enjoyable and safe. There are three things you
can do to get the best possible swim training for your
child. The first thing you should do is make sure your
child feels safe. Whether you or someone else is doing
the training you want to make sure your child feels safe.
If your child is afraid that you will drop them in the
water then they won’t be able to focus enough to
try and swim. When in the water you can help them feel
safe by keeping a hold on them, let them wear floaties
and start out in water that is shallow enough for them

to swim you will eventually have to let go of them. By
knowing that they simply have to stand to be safe then

them for doing a good job. This can give the child motivation
to keep going. Tell them in advance of what they can

the child can become startled and scared and not want

adult who knows how to swim we may not realize the importance
of these decisions but for a child they can make all
The last thing you can do is to avoid getting frustrated.
After awhile it is easy to become frustrated when teaching
children a new task. However, you want to be as patient
as possible. If you feel you are becoming irritated then
you need to take a break for a bit. If you keep going
then you child will associate the irritation with the
activity and cause your child to give up. You child won’t
understand why you are frustrated and instead won’t
want to do the activity anymore.
